Lunar Eclipse, First from Third Wonders of January 2010

The last lunar eclipse for the year of 2009 is one the line and all of us will witness the last lunar eclipse of 2009 along with ending year. Tonight is the last night of the 2009, the last night has been just started after the sun of last day for 2009 went into bed for sleep. Tomorrow, we will welcome the new sun of 2010 with best wishes and prayers. Anyways, we were talking about the last lunar eclipse that is on the line. The fifth and final lunar of the year will start at 10:45 pm on 31st December and will continue till 3 am on January 1st. So, you can also consider it as a joint lunar for ending year and coming year. We had 3 solar eclipses in 2009 as well.
Many people believe that we should not eat or go out during eclipse hours so this eclipse may disturb their New Year Party Night as they will not go outside or even they will not have anything for eat or drink. Prasun Sinha is the student of engineering he says that it is a custom of his family that they don’t eat during eclipse and so he is really upset as it has ruined his plans of outing with his friends.
NK Jha is the priest of a temple and he says that people should chant religious mantras during eclipse hours and families should avoid from eating as well as viewing the eclipse. He believes that lunar eclipses and solar eclipses have bad effect on the lives of people and those who don’t care about these eclipses their lives are being ruined by the eclipse ill effects.
Although people respect their religious values but what the astronomers say about the ill effects of the eclipses. Mr. Amitabh Gosh is the director at Indira Gandhi Planetarium, he says that it is just the matter of the movement of the Earth, the Sun and the Moon and has nothing to do with the destiny of the people. He says it is a natural phenomenon and you should observe the celestial spectacle.
